1974 – Our founding pastor, Kirk Martin and his wife Ruth, moved from East Liverpool, Ohio to Anchorage, Alaska to “build a cabin in the woods and get away from it all”, but the LORD had other plans. They became followers of Jesus Christ and were born again in August of that year.
1975 – The church in Alaska (Abbott Loop Community Church) was sending out many teams to start new churches. In 1975 the Martins were part of a team that went to Colorado Springs to help start a church there.
1978 – A team of 15 adults and 8 children was formed and sent out from Colorado Springs to Alliance, Ohio in August 1978. Alliance Christian Center was born. We first met in the Martin’s apartment, then in several storefront buildings, as well as an old church building over the next few years.
1987 – We built the building where we currently meet.
1990 – In December of 1990, we sent Mike and Karen Ross and their family to start a new church in East Liverpool and Hope Christian Fellowship began.
2019 – In January 2019, a group of about 50 members from Alliance Christian Center were sent out to start a new church in Louisville, Ohio, and Christ Connection Church began.
2019 – We were able to start a bilingual (Spanish/English) congregation in Canton, Ohio in January 2019. Comunidad de Vida was born. It has since moved online due to Covid-19 and now includes people in attendance from Peru, Guatemala, Ecuador, New York, and Ohio.
August 2020 – Taking local ownership of “No Place Left“ in our city of Alliance. It is a commitment to make disciples who will make disciples, and churches that will plant churches until there is No Place Left where the gospel of Jesus Christ has not been heard. Rom 15:23
October 2020 – David and Susu Moss along with their daughter Maria moved to Ecuador where they will be making disciples within a house church setting in Loja, Ecuador.
We are grateful for the many people both past and present who have contributed to the life of our church. We look forward to many more fruitful years as the Lord continues to use us to touch our community and beyond with the love of Jesus Christ and the good news of His kingdom.
